A Round of Golf: 16th April 2011

Date: 16th April 2011.
Course: Wolfedale Golf Course, Charminster, nr.Dorchester.

Conditions: Started and finished warm (not hot or sunny) but for the most part there was a cold wind, probably not helped by my choice not to wear a second layer.

Debrief

Front 9:

A less pressured game than last week as there was hardly anyone else on the course, but I started tired and didn’t really wake up until midway through the first half. I was 9 over my score from last week which was a season’s best so it felt like a failure. Still, it was only a few shots over my recent form of scoring 62s, so it wasn’t too bad.
Dad got his best score of the year with a 48, improving by 2. He was 16 ahead by the turn, it should be 10 shots per 9 holes!

Last three games:

Me: 62-55-64

Dad: 50-52-48

Back 9:

This was much different, the game seemed to come together on the return leg. I scored 56, easily the best back nine of the year! I’ve been working on these holes recently as they were always my weak point, and I’m really glad it is paying off! Dad scored 49 which is his best score of the year. A good back 9 for us both!

Last three games:

Me: 65-65-56

Dad: 58-52-49

Overall

120 for the second week running, yet achieved the opposite way! That’s proof I can play better on each part of the course which is very encouraging indeed, is there a 110 in there? This year I hope to find out. Dad got his first sub-100 of the year so he’s almost back on his old form.

Last three games:

Me: 127-120-120

Dad: 108-104-97

We are both still making progress and both have more to find!
