Course: Wolfedale Golf Course, Charminster, nr.Dorchester.
Distance: 5467 yds.
Conditions: Hot, sunny, muggy.
This was pretty much the same as the round two games ago, good on the front and not so good on the back. But..it was still a season’s best score, one shot better than the previous best! Dad matches his best. He won by two shots on personal handicap.
More positives: Not only did I not get a double-figure score, there wasn’t a 9 on the front half either! Very pleased with that.
There were some errors on the back half of the course, but some of that was bad luck.. there is one green on a sort of ledge, and my ball almost made it on but then rolled all the way down the steep edge which cost a couple of shots.
We then had a pint in the bar. Lovely ale called Celebration which was like a cross between a mild ale and a white beer, really nice and refreshing!
In the bar there was a sign over the door which read something like this:
“Golf: The lucky game. The more you play the luckier you get.”
So very true.
