I’m a bit late with this one.
Date: 5th June 2011.
Course: Wolfedale Golf Course, Charminster
Conditions: Sunny hot and humid, cooling later.
Adjusting for the usual 20-shot difference between us, we have a tie!
By half-distance I’d made a few errors and Dad was having a good round, so I was down by 3 shots – I needed to improve my game and for him to make a similar error. Somehow I found a bit of consistency with scores in the 5-7 range, and thankfully he made a mistake to take 7 on the short 16th par 3 to bring us level with two to go… when we scored exactly the same on each hole the tie was assured.
Neither of us improved a score on an individual hole, what we did instead was match our bests on several holes.
Last four rounds at this course (including this one):
Again maintaining consistency, and a nice improvement from me. There’s more in the tank from both of us though!
