A gap of 26, adjusting for the usual 20-shot difference between us I lost by 6 shots!

Again like Sunday we expected a big improvement over last time but for different reasons, weather conditions were similar but last time we were both carrying injuries – Dad to his back and me to my ankle. We think we both improved a little but I don’t have the card from our first visit, which was in April or May 2010.

It felt like a bad round for me with a lot of 8s and 9s throughout, even a 14 on the 9th hole. Fourteen. I’d taken a second tee shot after losing the first, and that second shot went into the long grass. The shot from their went into a gulley requiring another drop. I’d taken 6 shots in 150 yards, with 350 yards to go! Then I couldn’t hit it properly up the hill. After taking 3 from the tee on two consecutive holes and with people right on our tail I was feeling a bit of pressure. Without the 14 I’d have scored maybe 60 on the round, which is actually not bad at all!

Of course on the very next hole I scored a 3. Par! What a crazy game this is. That was a very pleasing result.

There were a lot of people on the course which slowed us up and backed up a lot of groups, so we were kept waiting by those in front, and a queue built up behind us. Neither of us really likes playing with other groups that close to us, we feel under pressure and make mistakes.

It was enjoyable round though, a really well-maintained course in the sun, can’t beat it.

  1. Injury eh, taking excuse lessons from racing drivers? 😉

Still positives though, you got two pars compared to your dad’s one, that is something i guess?

  2. Marti: Yeah we always have a gap between us because we are improving at the same rate! Will take a while. I beat him on Sunday though, after adjusting for our difference..

Ryan: I hadn’t noticed the other par, thanks. 🙂
